  • Xiamen Haissen SEAFOREST Perovskite PV + Storage Integration Case Study (Zhumadian, Henan, China)
Apr 03, 2026 Xiamen Haissen SEAFOREST Perovskite PV + Storage Integration Case Study (Zhumadian, Henan, China)
Where there is sun, there is SUNFOREST solar panel. Xiamen Haissen SEAFOREST Perovskite PV + Storage Integration Case Study (Zhumadian, Henan, China) From “Too much power – should we remove the panels?” → “Feed surplus electricity into the grid” Project overview: 187 kW installed capacity, daily generation 970 kWh, peak output over 190 kW (exceeding rated value). The customer once considered removing some panels, but ultimately chose to feed surplus power into the grid. 1. Why does peak output exceed the rated value? The rated value is based on standard test conditions (STC) of 1000 W/m² and 25°C. In actual outdoor conditions, solar irradiance can briefly exceed 1000 W/m². Additionally, perovskite has an extremely low temperature coefficient, and with AR anti‑reflective coating encapsulation, the peak output exceeds the rated value by 1–3%. Actual power generation is 10–15% higher than laboratory data. 2. Why is there surplus electricity? Zhumadian is classified as a Class III solar resource zone in China. For crystalline silicon, the average daily equivalent full‑load hours are about 4.3–4.5 hours, whereas in this project the measured value is 5.19 hours per day – 15–20% higher. Reasons: low temperature coefficient, excellent low‑light response, and AR gain. Annual power generation is approximately 354,000 kWh, with annual electricity sales revenue of about 115,000 RMB, and total annual benefits of 200,000–250,000 RMB. 3. Why choose grid connection instead of removing the panels? Removing the panels would permanently lose future annual revenue. Grid connection, on the other hand, allows sustainable monetization for 10–20 years. The difference over ten years exceeds 1 million RMB. SEAFOREST proposed the “self‑consumption + surplus feed‑in” model. The customer agreed and completed the grid connection. 4. SUNFOREST product line ① Flexible modules 1.7 mm ultra‑thin, weight 1/10–1/5 of conventional modules. Sizes from 300×300 mm up to 1600×1000 mm (1.0 mm thickness also available). Power output 8.5 W – 315 W, efficiency up to 21%, IP68 protection rating, resistant to 25 mm hail. ② Rigid glass modules (IEC certified) 1200×600 mm (110–130 W), 1200×1600 mm (185–210 W, semi‑transparent BIPV), 1223×2308 mm (430–500 W). 12‑year product warranty / 25‑year linear power warranty. ③ BIPV Power‑generating stone, curtain walls, solar roof tiles, industrial roofs. Customizable. ④ Tandem modules Lab efficiency 28.1%, theoretical maximum 50%, size 2406×1156 mm. 5. Export track record ① Nagoya, Japan: 10 W perovskite panels (300×300 mm) × 10 pcs – sample testing ② Tokyo, Japan: 10 W perovskite panels (300×300 mm) × 10 pcs – sample testing ③ Malaysia: 0.2 W perovskite panels (50×50 mm) × 30 pcs – sample testing ④ Malaysia: 1.2 W perovskite panels (100×100 mm) × 20 pcs – for tandem panel prototyping Japanese customers include power grid companies, chemical manufacturers, and leading trading houses – they continuously purchase samples for testing. Malaysian customers h...

Mar 26, 2026 Title: Breaking Through Output Control Barriers with "DC Link" – The Challenge of Solar + Storage Systems in Hokkaido
Title: Breaking Through Output Control Barriers with "DC Link" – The Challenge of Solar + Storage Systems in Hokkaido Article Source: Solar Journal Solar + Storage System Q&A 1. What is DC Link? Answer: DC Link refers to a method in which the DC power generated by solar panels is charged directly into the battery without being converted to AC even once. Because the panels and battery are connected on the DC side, conversion losses are minimized and highly efficient operation is achieved. Since the system can be configured with a single hybrid inverter, it is ideal for new installations. 2. What is AC Link? Answer: AC Link refers to a method in which the DC power generated by solar panels is first converted to AC by an inverter, and then charged into the battery via a separate PCS (Power Conversion System). This configuration is suitable for retrofitting storage batteries to existing solar power generation systems. In Japan, many residential storage systems adopt this method. 3. What are the differences and relationship between DC Link and AC Link? Answer: The difference lies in whether the solar panels and battery are connected on the DC side or the AC side. Key differences: Number of conversions: DC Link requires 1 conversion (only during discharge), while AC Link requires 2 or more conversions. Efficiency: DC Link offers higher efficiency (approximately 90% or more), while AC Link is slightly lower. Equipment configuration: DC Link uses a single hybrid inverter, whereas AC Link requires an inverter plus a separate PCS (2 units). Ease of installation: DC Link is simpler, while AC Link is slightly more complex. Suitable application: DC Link is ideal for new installations, while AC Link is suited for retrofitting existing systems. Relationship: Both methods are ways to realize "solar + storage" systems, and share the common purpose of maximizing the effective use of generated power, responding to output control, and maximizing electricity sales revenue. 4. What is a Battery Inverter? Is it the same as a PCS? Answer: Yes, that is correct. A battery inverter is the same as a PCS (Power Conversion System). It is a device that performs bidirectional conversion between AC and DC, connecting the storage battery with the grid and loads. It converts AC to DC during charging and DC to AC during discharging. Differences based on coupling method: DC Link: Functions as a "hybrid inverter" where the solar inverter and PCS are integrated into one unit. AC Link: The PCS is installed separately from the existing solar inverter. SEAFOREST – Your Solar + Storage System Specialist SEAFOREST supports a wide range of solar + storage systems, from residential homes to industrial applications. Depending on your requirements and installation conditions, we can propose both DC Link and AC Link system configurations. Our systems maximize the utilization of solar-generated power in the ...
